Many months ago, I promised a post on CGI in period dramas. If you were waiting for that, I’m sorry: This is about Marisa Tomei’s Beauty Secrets video for Vogue on YouTube. Yes, I am calling normal YouTube “TV.”

I have watched this video many times since Vogue published it in December 2021. I assume it was part of an agreement to promote Spiderman: No Way Home, which came out that month, although, like other celebrities who appear in Vogue’s videos as part of media tours and beauty brand promotion, Marisa Tomei makes no mention of her movie and is good at hiding any product deals. (Promo is so sneaky these days.)
